FoodLab at Stony Brook SouthamptonTea talk tuesday will host Paula Montagna for an afternoon of conversation and practical nutrition in its latest “Tea Talk Tuesday” event on Tuesday, November 4.

A registered dietitian with Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, Montagna draws on decades of clinical and community experience to translate evidence into everyday choices. She has also shared her culinary-nutrition expertise with the Mediterranean Diet Roundtable, bringing a Mediterranean-inspired, food-as-medicine lens to patient care and public education.

The event is free and open to the public, and will take place from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm at the Carriage House/Technology Center at Stony Brook Southampton.

Tea Talk Tuesday is FoodLab’s monthly gathering where Stony Brook experts and community practitioners meet neighbors over a cup of tea to explore timely topics in food, health, and sustainability. The series alternates between Stony Brook University faculty and community members, reflecting FoodLab’s mission to link research, education, and hands-on practice so that science becomes solutions — on the plate, in clinics, and across our regional food system.

“We built Tea Talk Tuesday on a simple idea: the community is our classroom. With a cup of tea, you can slow down, connect with neighbors, and learn, side by side with Stony Brook experts and local voices,” said FoodLab Executive Director Judiann Carmack-Fayyaz.

Local vendor pop-ups give small businesses a platform to connect with attendees before and after the talk, and the tea service is sponsored by Harney & Sons Fine Teas.
