
The Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity (OIDE) is offering two scholarships to full-time Stony Brook University students who have a minimum GPA of 3.0 — The Dr. William McAdoo Memorial Scholarship and the Mr. Ralph Watkins Memorial Scholarship. Each offers an award of $500.
Student must demonstrate the following:
- Financial Need
- Leadership Qualities and Community Involvement
- Potential and Promise
The application deadline for both of these scholarships is February 11, 2019 at 5 pm.

The Dr. William McAdoo Memorial Scholarship was established in 2004 to honor the former chair of the Africana Studies Department, who was an ardent supporter of diversity, equality and social justice. The Ralph Watkins Memorial Scholarship was established in 2006 in memory and honor of the former director of Special Projects at Stony Brook University in the late 1970s, which included the supervision of EOP/AIM, Upward Bound and Disabled Student Services.
