It’s March, and that means it’s time for the Stony Brook University community to support its favorite mascot, Wolfie, in the annual SUNY Mascot Madness tournament.
Mascot Madness, which began in 2013, is the annual competition that brings SUNY mascots together in a competition to find out who the fans feel is the best in all of New York.
Wolfie is a two-time champion of the event, which is similar to the annual NCAA March Madness basketball tournament.
This year’s tournament will begin Tuesday, March 11, when Wolfie takes on Perseus the Panther of Purchase College and Jamestown Community College’s mascot duo of JJ the Jayhawk and Jax the Jaguar in a three-way, first-round battle.
