If you haven’t yet, check out, and sign up for, some exciting, inspiring events celebrating the Inauguration of our Sixth SBU President, Maurie McInnis, PhD. This Saturday, October 23, is the official ceremony and there are activities to partake in between now and then, including later today (Wednesday, October 20). REMINDER: Join Us for Next Stronger Together Event Wednesday, October 27

WHAT: Stronger Together and the Arts takes you on tours of the Wang Center, Staller Center and Zuccaire Gallery, followed by the opportunity to mix and mingle with coworkers and friends over fall- and Halloween-themed refreshments.

WHEN and WHERE: Wednesday, October 27

12:30 – 1:00 pm: Charles B. Wang Center tour, including current exhibits

1:00 – 1:30 pm: Staller Center for the Arts* backstage tour – A behind-the-scenes look of the Staller Center stage and theater

1:30 – 2:00 pm: Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery – Curator-led tour featuring paintings by Distinguished Professor of Art Howardena Pindell and the exhibition Dos Mundos: (Re)Constructing Narratives

2 – 3 pm: Enjoy refreshments with friends and coworkers in the Staller Center Lobby

Participate in any one or all of these activities. No need to RSVP; just show up!

Come to the Athletics Hall of Fame Reception

The Stony Brook University Athletics Hall of Fame will open its doors to nine new members at an induction ceremony this Friday, October 22. The Class of 2020 includes Tommy Brenton, ‘12,’13 (Men’s Basketball), Michael Crooks, ‘06 (Men’s Tennis), Bryan Dougher, ‘12 (Men’s Basketball), Paul Dudzick, ‘72 (Coach/Administrator 1968-2003), Kathy Koshansky (Former Head Athletic Trainer 1983-2011), Jenny Payne (Simkins), ‘03, ‘07 (Women’s XC/Track & Field) and Aden Smith, ‘03, ‘07 (Football). The Class of 2021 includes Joe Castiglie (Head Coach, Men’s Basketball, 1984-1991) and William Carmona, ‘16 (Baseball). WUSB Honored for Life-Saving Pandemic Programming

WUSB, Stony Brook University’s student-led, volunteer-based radio station recently received well-deserved recognition for its continuous stream of COVID communications to spread the word on – and work to help stop the spread of – the virus. See the WUSB story and view the video here.

THIS WEEK, FULLY VACCINATED WEST CAMPUS EMPLOYEES WITH LAST NAMES M-R TEST. NEXT WEEK (week of October 25) EMPLOYEES WITH LAST NAMES S-Z. See the full testing schedule here. Employees who are not vaccinated, or haven’t shared their vaccination status, must continue testing weekly.
