The Investiture of Stony Brook University President Andrea Goldsmith will take place Saturday, April 18, at 11 am in the Stony Brook Arena, the culmination of the weeklong Inauguration celebration honoring the university’s seventh president.
The event is a distinguished ceremonial occasion that formally commemorates the appointment of the university president, paying homage to the institution’s enduring traditions while signifying the commencement of a new chapter in its leadership.
The investiture ceremony will include an academic procession featuring faculty, members of the Stony Brook Council, University Council, Executive Senate Committee and Alumni Association Boards, delegates representing colleges, universities and learned societies, and recipients of the Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence and The Stony Awards.

Doors will open at 10 am at the Stony Brook Arena. A reception will follow at the Stony Brook Union.
