There’s something for everyone at Stony Brook University’s first annual Winterfest, a new campus-wide initiative where you can take a break from your busy schedule, have a little fun and even learn something new.
Presented by the Division of Student Affairs, this new Winterfest program will take place from Monday, January 8 to Friday, January 12 and offers a wide variety of opportunities for faculty, staff and students to learn a new hobby or teach a talent.
Members of the SBU community can lead a small class and teach anything from baking to changing a tire to methods of studying, or explore new ideas without the stress of academics while meeting new people. Winterfest is the perfect time to connect with the campus community and expand your knowledge.
The list of available activities includes cooking classes, origami making, Zumba, pickleball, dancing, topical discussions and much more. Though most events are in person, there are also virtual events for those who cannot come to campus. To view the full list of events and to register, please visit the SB Engaged page.
Winterfest’s campus partner is Healthier U, which integrates the missions of Stony Brook University and Stony Brook Medicine to provide an innovative wellness program for all employees, designed to address the total well-being: mind, body and spirit.
