Stony Brook’s COVID-19 dashboard has received an “A” grade from the website “We Rate COVID Dashboards,” founded by researchers from major universities including Yale and Harvard.

The website issues report cards based on whether colleges have COVID-19 information dashboards, how frequently they report related data and how detailed is the information offered.
SBU’s dashboard is described as “easy to read” and is highly rated for its frequent updates; data with positive cases and total number of tests; separation of student and employee data; city and county data trends; and the number of students in isolation or quarantine status.
The initiatives describes itself as “a work in progress” and bases its ratings criteria on a review of best-in-class practices as well as the information that should be available for decision-makers and stakeholders. Rating schema will be revised as needed, based on further input from stakeholders.
The team behind the site includes Dr. Howard Forman, director of the Health Care Management Program in the Yale School of Public Health; Dr. Dr. Cary Gross, Professor of Medicine and Director of the National Clinician Scholars Program at Yale; Ayotomiwa Ojo; a dual MD/MPP candidate at Harvard University; Sarah Pitaf, a junior at Yale College; and Hannah Todd, a medical student at Baylor College of Medicine.
Greetings,
I’m very impressed with Stonybrook completing this and also quite proud too.
Hopefully everything will continue to go this way.
