Stony Brook wins SUNYCUAD 2017 Awards for Excellence

Far BeyondThe State University of New York Council for Advancement (SUNYCUAD) Annual Conference was held June 7 through June 9 in Tarrytown, NY. Awards for Excellence, which reward the very best of SUNY’s talented and creative professionals, are bestowed each year at the educational conference. This year, Stony Brook University’s Office of Communications and Marketing won SUNYCUAD 2017 Awards for Excellence in:

Best Total Advertising: Far Beyond Advertising Campaign
Best Magazine: Stony Brook University Magazine
Best Group of Photos: Judges’ Citation for Photography by Pete Thompson, Far Beyond Campaign
Best Student Recruitment Publication: Stony Brook University Viewbook
Best Website: Stony Brook University Homepage
Best Microsite: Stony Brook University Magazine

“These awards reflect real success in getting our message across,” said Nicholas Scibetta, Vice President for Communications and Marketing and Chief Communications Officer. “Our strong showing is evidence, not just of the talents and hard work of the MarCom team, but also of the tremendous creative power of teamwork that reaches across all areas of campus.”

During the spring semester, juries with professional experience in the specific categories determine the winners. The judging is hosted and coordinated by colleagues of SUNY institutions.

SUNYCUAD represents all professionals employed in a cross-section of institutional advancement areas at every State University campus. It is a diverse membership that includes advancement professionals responsible for a wide range of services, from publications and webpage maintenance to alumni relations, marketing and development.
