June is Pride Month, and the Stony Brook University community can celebrate at a number of events on and off campus.
The Diversity Leadership Development Initiative (DLDI) will begin the festivities with a Pride Month kickoff on Thursday, June 1, from 3 pm to 4:30 pm at the UNITI Cultural Center, located on the first floor of the Stony Brook Union. Ice cream, drinks and Pride-themed trivia will be served, and winners of a “best Pride work outfit” contest can win SBU Pride merchandise.

Celebrate Pride Month at the UNITI Cultural Center and play some fun board games with friends! Come prepared to answer some LGBTQ-themed trivia for the chance to win prizes.

Stony Brook Medicine is sponsoring three Pride Month events in June across Suffolk County. Whether you identify as LGBTQ+ or as an ally to the community, all Stony Brook faculty, staff and students are welcome. Please come and show your community spirit!
Second Annual Hamptons Pride Parade and Celebration
Saturday, June 3, noon
Main Street, East Hampton Village
Sponsored by Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, the parade starts at noon with a celebration to follow in Herrick Park.
Patchogue Pride
Sunday, June 4, noon
Patchogue Village
This inaugural event features a parade at noon and a “Pride-A-Palooza” after-party.
Third Annual Pride on the Farm
Saturday, June 10, 4-7 pm
Suffolk County Farm, 350 Yaphank Avenue, Yaphank
Co-hosted with the Cornell Cooperative Extension, this family-friendly event offers wagon rides, kids’ activities and supportive resources for families. Follow the Suffolk County Farm and Education Center Facebook page for more details.
Students, faculty and staff are also invited to march with SUNY at the NYC Pride March in midtown Manhattan Sunday, June 25 from 11 am to 4 pm. Space is limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Register online.
