Stony Brook Medicine has opened a new, multispecialty center in Commack called “Advanced Specialty Care,” offering the residents of Long Island more choices and flexibility when looking for the highest quality medical care.
“The Stony Brook Medicine footprint continues to expand in response to growing healthcare needs of the Long Island community,” said Stony Brook University President Samuel L. Stanley Jr., MD. “The Advanced Specialty Care facility is a unique ambulatory setting that can accommodate a myriad of patients and families with care close to home in a beautiful new state-of-the-art facility and highest quality of expertise — the epitome of Stony Brook Medicine.”
The center offers 30 medical specialties designed to meet the majority of people’s medical needs. Specialties include:
- Primary Care/Internal Medicine
- Pediatrics
- Obstetrics/Gynecology
- Dermatology
- Orthopedics
- Urology
- Surgery
- Neurosurgery
- Neurology
- Radiology/Imaging
“Advanced Specialty Care is special; to us it means that in a single building, patients can expect to receive the highest level of expertise and compassionate care, that Stony Brook Medicine physicians are known to provide,” said Kenneth Kaushansky, MD, Senior Vice President for Health Sciences and Dean of Stony Brook University School of Medicine. “If surgery or other advanced treatment is needed, our patients can transition to Stony Brook University Hospital without any disruption in the continuity of their care.”
Stony Brook Medicine occupies more than 120,000 square feet of space in the state-of-the-art ambulatory care facility, allowing room for future expansion as additional services are added. There is also a complete imaging center on site to provide x-rays, mammography, ultrasounds, bone densitometry, CT scans and MRIs.
