Stony Brook Hospital Blood Bank Urgently Seeking Donors

Blood drive sbu

Blood drive sbuThere is a critical need for blood and the Blood Bank at Stony Brook University Hospital is urgently seeking blood donors.

According to the American Red Cross, we are currently experiencing a severe blood shortage. The summer months are the most challenging months of the year for blood and platelet donations and blood product inventories across the country are at critically low levels following the 4th of July holiday.

It takes less than an hour to donate and your donation can save up to three lives.  Please help our community by becoming a donor.

As a way of saying thank you…

  • Whole Blood Donors will receive a collapsible wire-frame utility tote.
  • Platelet Donors will receive a fleece field blanket.
