Stony Brook University honored its exceptional young alumni on October 24 by celebrating the 2024 Class of 40 Under Forty.

These Seawolves, who have distinguished themselves as leaders in their communities, have made significant strides early in their careers, earning recognition for their achievements in healthcare, technology, public service, academia and environmental sciences, among other fields.

“This year’s honorees are joining a community of very distinguished alumni,” said Stony Brook University Interim President Richard L. McCormick. “They are accomplishing great things in their fields and providing exceptional service to their communities — helping to fuel Stony Brook’s unstoppable momentum across Long Island, our state, our region and the nation.”

More than 150 alumni and friends joined in the celebration at the Charles B. Wang Center Theater. From making sure our veterans get the resources they need and working in the New York State Assembly for senior citizens’ rights, to competing in the Olympics and raising money for nonprofit organizations, this year’s class of honorees joins the ranks of alumni dedicated to helping their communities and addressing global issues.
