Stony Brook University faculty and staff now have a new way to experience the arts on campus. The Staller Center has introduced a new 20 percent discount on tickets to all performances for Stony Brook University faculty and staff.

The Staller Center team is grateful to the faculty and staff who make up the university community, and the new discount is another way to encourage more of them to take advantage of Staller Center programming.

The Staller Center’s Fall season kicks off this weekend with Katharine McPhee and David Foster on September 26, and the season includes a mix of music, comedy, theater, dance and family programming, including David Sedaris, The Hot Sardines, Gravity & Other Myths, Paul Reiser, Coco in Concert, One Vision of Queen, a Holiday Pops Concert, and Broadway power couple Kelli Barrett and Jarrod Spector in HOME (for the holidays).

The new benefit also reflects the broader role the arts play in university life. During this summer’s Stony Brook Film Festival, Staller Center Director Alan Inkles and Stony Brook University President Andrea Goldsmith spoke about the importance of the arts on campus and the role Staller Center plays in bringing the university community together.

“This past July, Andrea and I were talking about how important the arts are to the life of this university, and her enthusiasm and support for what we do at Staller is incredibly meaningful,” said Inkles. “Our faculty and staff are such an important part of the campus community, and we wanted to create something that makes the arts even more accessible. We hope they’ll take advantage of the opportunity to see a show, bring their families and friends, and enjoy some of the extraordinary artists coming to Stony Brook.”

The faculty and staff discount joins several existing programs designed to make Staller Center programming accessible to the broader Stony Brook community. Stony Brook students can continue to receive free tickets to Staller Center performances through SB Engaged, where students can browse eligible shows and RSVP for tickets. Faculty and staff can also help spread the word to students who may not realize Staller Center performances are free by registering on SB Engaged. The Staller Center also works with United University Professions to offer free tickets through raffles for select performances throughout the year.

Faculty and staff can receive the new 20 percent discount by presenting a valid Stony Brook University ID at the Staller Center Box Office or by purchasing online with the code SBU2026.

The Staller Center also offers membership options with additional benefits, and faculty and staff may join through payroll deduction.
