Wolfietank 21 newWolfieTank, Stony Brook University’s cross-campus pitch competition where contestants find out if their business ideas have what it takes to lead the pack, will take place Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 6:30 pm, both virtually and at the Charles B. Wang Center Theatre.

The seventh annual event, which includes total awards of up to $3,000, is inspired by the popular TV show Shark Tank and presents a unique opportunity for entrants to showcase their talents and present their ideas to an esteemed panel of judges. This year’s panel includes Derek Peterson, CEO and founder of Soter Technologies; Bob Williams, President of IVMatters Inc.; and James Keane, serial entrepreneur and founder and CEO of Airfoil Corp.

Contestants will receive valuable feedback and expert advice from industry professionals, presenting their ideas not only to the panel but to the Stony Brook community at large, in an effort to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit and professional networking.

The event is a collaboration between the College of Business, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Division of Information Technology, and Economic Development. Partners include the Stony Brook University Alumni Association, the Long Island High Tech Incubator, Softheon, Soter Technologies, IVMatters, Marcum Accountants and Advisors, and Carter, Deluca and Farrell LLP.

Anyone interested in attending the event, either in person or on Zoom, must RSVP here.
