SBU’s Sustainable Impact Rated High in Times Higher Education Ranking

The Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings recognize universities throughout the world for their social and economic impact based on the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which were adopted by the UN in 2016 and provide a framework for developing the world in a sustainable way

For the 2020 THE rankings, Stony Brook University ranked among the top 100 institutions out of a total 806 worldwide in four areas:

No. 27 in Reduced Inequalities 

No. 59 in Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure 

No. 95 in Quality Education 

No. 99 in Climate Action 

Universities included in the THE rankings are global pioneers that support the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals through teaching, research and knowledge transfer, and also embody the goals in internal practices, policies and procedures.
