Stony Brook University’s Division of Student Affairs has been recognized as one of 2023’s Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs according to Diverse: Issues in Higher Education, the leading publication focusing on news and issues of diversity, equity and inclusion in American higher education.

The “Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs” selection was based on workplace diversity, staffing practices, and work environment, as well as family friendliness, salary and benefits, and professional development opportunities.

This recognition highlights Stony Brook’s Student Affairs achievements to continually strive for excellence along with professional development opportunities, implementing workplace diversity and inclusion practices, as well as creating a community of staff committed to enhancing student life on campus.

“We are very excited to be recognized by one of the leading organizations that address developments in higher education,” said Rick Gatteau, vice president for Student Affairs. “This is the second year in a row that we are honored with this distinction, which reaffirms our commitment to creating, enhancing, and sustaining a culture of respect and inclusion in the workplace, focusing on equity and justice,” he added.
