SBU Sponsors Participants in Nation’s Largest PhD Science and Technology Career Symposium

Earning a PhD can provide countless opportunities for an individual across academia and industry. 

Stony brook, ny; stony brook university: students on campusStony Brook will serve as a sponsor again for this year’s “What Can You Be With a PhD?” event. This two-day virtual workshop is the nation’s largest career symposium, convened every other year by NYU’s Grossman School of Medicine. Participants will have the chance to attend 40 fully virtual sessions, with more than 120 speakers and 2,000 participants covering a range of topics from career development to skills assessment.

The event is being held on October 21 and 22 online via the Whova app, and Stony Brook students and postdocs can register at a discounted rate of $10.

In the past, Stony Brook attendees have shared how it helped them learn about new career paths, increased their confidence and allowed them to network with individuals who had similar career goals.
