SBU Leads the Charge: Meeting Employer Demand Through LI College Partnerships

Job fair

The Stony Brook University Career Center is hosting the New Graduates and Experienced Alumni Virtual Job Fair on Thursday, June 2, from 1 pm to 4 pm.

Job fairIn June 2020, the Career Center implemented its first-ever Virtual Job and Internship Fair for Recent Graduates and Experienced Alumni to meet the needs of recent graduates as well as alumni who had lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic and needed to make connections with potential employers.

Due to this virtual event’s success, the Career Center hosted this event in 2021, and will do so again this June. However, this time, as a way to give back to Long Island and support the needs of our local, regional and national employers, Stony Brook is opening the event to our partner schools on Long Island: Adelphi University, Hofstra University and Long Island University. This fair also serves as a response to the current job market and the increase of employer demand for quality entry-level and experienced talent. Taking place on Handshake’s virtual fair tool, this fair will connect individuals looking for their first or next full-time opportunity with employers.

More than 100 employers will be participating in this fair and hiring for entry-level and experienced professional positions with a focus on individuals who are graduating currently, and a wide range of job functions such accounting and finance, media and PR, data and analytics, healthcare, consulting, engineering, software development, education/teaching, community and social services and more.

The Career Center is excited to support not only Stony Brook’s graduating students, but students graduating across Long Island through partnerships with other institutions. Students can register for the virtual fair and sign up for 1:1 and group sessions to meet with employers of their choice.

Some of the employees in attendance are:
