As part of Community Service Day during Opening Week, on Saturday, August 20, Stony Brook University is hosting a food donation drive to benefit the Stony Brook Food Pantry and the Harry Chapin Regional Food Bank.
Members of the Stony Brook community are invited to donate non-perishable food items to help address food insecurity and hunger on Long Island. Hosting both a physical and virtual food drive, this collaboration with Long Island Cares aims to directly impact those students at Stony Brook in need of emergency food supplies, as well as those in the surrounding communities.

Where: Drop-off location is at the Stony Brook Union, north entrance
When: Saturday, August 20 from 12:45 pm to 3 pm
You can also support this initiative by donating virtually at the You Give Goods website.
This is the second annual Community Service Day, when first-year students will have the opportunity to get involved in a series of activities and service projects dedicated to improving the campus community and neighboring communities. For more information about Community Service Day, visit the Center for Service Learning and Community Service website.
If there was a location for drop off in the HSC/Hospital area, I am sure that would expand the donations considerably. Can you consider this? Thank you!
