High school juniors and seniors can experience science in the heart of an 88-acre wetland preserve. The Ward Melville Heritage Organization and Stony Brook University once again present Summer of Science, which is held at the Dr. Erwin J. Ernst Marine Conservation Center, West Meadow Creek, in Stony Brook. The course runs from July 12 through August 18, from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm, Monday through Thursday of each week.
This three-credit undergraduate introductory course in oceanography will immerse students in hands-on fieldwork at a waterside scientific laboratory. It is offered through Stony Brook’s School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences in cooperation with the Ward Melville Heritage Organization.
