President McInnis to host noted author in the first in a special series on climate change

The Stony Brook University community is invited to join President Maurie McInnis at her latest Presidential Lecture, “A Conversation with Jeff Goodell,” on Wednesday, October 25 at 5 pm at the Charles B. Wang Center Theater.
This is the first in a special series of Presidential Lectures, “Answering the Call: A Special Series on Climate Change.”
Goodell is an award-winning journalist and author who has been covering climate change for more than two decades. His latest book is The New York Times bestseller The Heat Will Kill You First: Life and Death on a Scorched Planet. He is also the author of six previous books, including The Water Will Come: Rising Seas and Remaking of the Civilized World, which was a New York Times Critics Top Book of 2017.
As a commentator on energy and environmental issues, Goodell has appeared on NPR, MSNBC, CNN, CNBC, ABC and NBC.
Guided by your questions, Goodell will share his insight on what we can do to mitigate the impact of climate change.
The lecture is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.
