Stony Brook University President Samuel L. Stanley Jr., MD, will deliver the annual State of the University Address on Wednesday, October 3, at 1 p.m. on the Staller Center Main Stage. All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend.

By tradition, each year the president addresses the assembled University community, summarizing the events and accomplishments of the previous year while looking forward to future milestones.
Last year’s address highlighted 60 years of accomplishments since the University’s founding and discussed challenges and goals of the coming years. In the face of budget and political challenges, President Stanley said the University would be undeterred in its mission to invest in tomorrow.
This year the President is expected to highlight milestones in research, scholarship and economic development; faculty honors; University initiatives and commitments; as well as budgetary successes, challenges and plans.
