Parkland Shooting Survivors Thrive In Stony Brook Journalism Program

Zoe Gordon

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students Zoe Gordon and Taylor, survivors of a tragic school shooting in Parkland, Florida last February, attended Stony Brook University this summer as part of the School of Journalism’s Robert W. Greene Institute for High School Journalists.

They came as students who had been through something few people have experienced. They left with new insights and an appreciation for the critical role journalists play in telling stories that illuminate our society.
