Stony Brook University will be welcoming 800 new first-year and transfer students for the spring semester, and the New Seawolf Winter Welcome events will help these students become new members of our campus community.
All new transfer and first-year students are required to attend New Seawolf Winter Welcome from Thursday, January 19, through Sunday, January 22. Events will take place across campus.
New Seawolf Winter Welcome is an experience geared toward getting new students acclimated to Stony Brook University and introducing them to faculty, staff and fellow students. Each student has a unique schedule of assigned workshops and “Choose Your Own Workshops.”
A schedule of events is available on the New Students and Transition Programs website. New students will also receive their unique schedules via SBEngaged, along with a how-to guide featuring instructions on how to RSVP to their events.
New Seawolf Information Stations will be available January 19 to 24 to help guide new students with any questions they may have. These information stations will be located in the Student Activities Center Lobby and Union Lobby throughout Winter Welcome and the first two days of classes, from 9 am to 4 pm every day.
