The Campus Life Centers are excited to announce the highly anticipated re-opening of two recently renovated spaces in the Student Activities Center: The Loft and The Shore Club.

Previously known as SAC 221 and SAC 169, both rooms have undergone extensive renovations and updates that the campus community can enjoy. Both spaces are now open for campus departments and organizations to make reservations for these spaces.

The Shore Club (formerly SAC 169) features a beach-like ambiance with a shoreline mural and glamorous nautical decorative features such as flooring mimicking a boardwalk. The scope of the renovation includes new furniture, a bar footprint with footrests and seating, portable chafing stations for catering, new flooring in a boardwalk pattern, an antique mirror, warm lighting, a mural wall, and plants. Phase two will feature the addition of built-in audio and enhancement of the bar area to a wet bar with a sink.

This space is ideal for large social gatherings, end-of-semester/year events, and audio-based events such as spoken word, karaoke, comedy, live performances, and announcements.

Shore club 2Please keep in mind the following when scheduling your events in this space:

  • The Shore Club will be available by reservation only.
  • Internal departments and organizations should follow their standard reservation process in 25live. Meanwhile, third-party use will be facilitated through the Campus Life Centers Scheduling Office.
  • The Shore Club is not available for repeated or block booking reservations.
  • Limited audio equipment is available in the Shore Club. We currently offer a portable sound system setup with 2 wireless microphones as well as connections for playing audio from devices (requiring CLC AV staffing). Additional services include uplighting, DJs, wired microphones, and a D.I. Box for instrumentalists.
  • Please note that there is no video equipment available in this space.
  • The Shore Club is available with “as-is” furniture configuration. No modifications will be made to the configurations of the space.
  • Art and crafting events will not be permitted in this space.
  • Maximum occupant capacity: 110 persons

The Loft, formerly SAC 221/SAC Upper Dining Hall.

The Loft (formerly SAC 221/SAC Upper Dining Hall) features new furniture, luxury vinyl flooring, a storefront door to make the space more private, portable chafing stations for catering, and expanded electrical and data. In phase two (coming soon), this space will feature five large displays and ceiling-recessed speakers capable of being used individually or to display the same content. A tuner will be present at each display for cable TV. This space is ideal for meetings, large social gatherings, trivia, bingo nights, training, watch parties, and gaming parties.
