The Long Island Manufacturing Extension Partnership (LIMEP) and Stony Brook University’s Office for Research and Innovation participated in the 2026 ADDAPT Golf for Business Invitational and Legislative Breakfast on June 15, joining more than 60 companies from Long Island’s manufacturing, aerospace and defense sectors, along with elected officials and industry leaders.
The event brought together manufacturers, policymakers and economic development partners for discussions focused on issues affecting Long Island’s manufacturing sector, including workforce development, small business support, domestic manufacturing, tax policy, supply chain resilience and the long-term competitiveness of the defense industrial base.
Stony Brook was represented by Amy Erickson, executive director of LIMEP; Nina Maung-Gaona, senior associate vice president for research and innovation; and Adam J. Ortiz, senior specialist for content, news and social media. Their participation reflected Stony Brook’s ongoing commitment to strengthening industry partnerships, advancing innovation and supporting economic growth across Long Island.
The Legislative Breakfast featured discussions with U.S. Reps. Tom Suozzi and Nick LaLota, giving manufacturers an opportunity to engage directly with federal policymakers on challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
A highlight of the event was the recognition of Erickson as ADDAPT’s 2026 Corporate Honoree for her leadership and advocacy on behalf of New York manufacturers. Through her work at LIMEP, Erickson has helped connect companies with resources that support technology adoption, workforce development, cybersecurity readiness, operational excellence and business growth.
“Long Island manufacturers are essential to our region’s economy and to the nation’s aerospace and defense supply chain,” said Erickson. “Events like this create meaningful opportunities for industry leaders, policymakers and economic development organizations to come together, discuss shared challenges and identify solutions that help manufacturers innovate, grow and compete.”
ADDAPT continues to serve as a key advocate for New York’s aerospace and defense manufacturers, supporting programs and policies that strengthen the defense supply chain, encourage investment and help manufacturers remain competitive.
LIMEP and Stony Brook thank ADDAPT, its Board of Directors, participating manufacturers, partners and elected officials for their continued commitment to strengthening Long Island’s manufacturing sector.
