Chef poulmentisFoodLab at Stony Brook Southampton has partnered with the Mediterranean Diet Roundtable to present the Stony Brook community with an inspired nutritional experience, “The Positive Nutrition Symposium: A Mediterranean Mindset.”

The symposium will be held in Chancellor’s Hall on the Southampton campus on Friday, October 27, from 3 pm to 9 pm. Guests will begin with a tour of the newly constructed FoodLab Farm and travel through a Mediterranean Market, where they may taste and purchase locally sourced items.

The tour is followed by a symposium with guest speakers Angelo Mojica, Deanne Branstetter, Rafi Taherian, Paulette Satur and Paula Montagna, who will discuss various aspects of nutrition and the benefits of the Mediterranean Diet.  The evening will conclude with a Mediterranean meal curated by chef Nicholas Poulmentis, a champion of Food Network’s hit competition show “Chopped” and a member of the NOEMA group.

Guests will leave the evening with full stomachs and valuable information on how to cook for a healthier life. To register for the symposium and to learn about the benefits of the Mediterranean lifestyle, visit the FoodLab website.
