The Stony Brook University football team is getting ready for the 2022 season, and one of its players gave sports fans across the nation a memorable introduction to what the Seawolves have in store for the rest of the Colonial Athletic Association.
Redshirt sophomore running back Jayden Cook’s one-handed, over-the-shoulder, sideline grab of a pass from quarterback Daron Bryden was number six on the ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 Plays of the Day:

“What’s scarier as a defensive back,” asked the ESPN anchor during the clip. “One-handed grab, or a Seawolf?”
A total of 118 student-athletes reported to football training camp this week and the Seawolves brought a ton of energy to the practice field as preparations began for the upcoming season.
The Seawolves will hold their first scrimmage on Thursday, August 11, at 10 am, and will kick-off the 2022 season on Thursday, September 1, at 7 pm, against Rhode Island at LaValle Stadium. Tickets are on sale now.
