CampusClear Updates – What You Need to Know and Do

Coming Back Safe and StrongTo best protect our campus community, we’re continuously updating the CampusClear daily self-screening app in ways that make it easier to use, and more useful for us all as we move forward with our plans for Coming Back Safe and Strong.

Here are the latest updates and what we’re asking you to do to help keep our University safe and open for in-person learning …

Confidential Vaccine Question

Campus clear vaccineAs the number of vaccinated faculty, staff and students increases, we’ve added a COVID vaccine question you only need to answer once, after you’ve received your vaccine. It’s a new yellow button toward the bottom of the screen that you simply press to ‘check the box.’ Vaccinated individuals who fill out a paper CampusClear screening are asked to call the Health Information Line (HIL) at (631) 632-5000 (Option 1) with their name, department and date of vaccination.

As with other elements on CampusClear, this information is confidential. It will not be shared with your department or supervisor. Along with your other individual health information, it will only be accessible by healthcare professionals who staff the HIL.

Why It’s Important:

This information is critical for assessing our vaccination efforts, planning for future Coming Back Safe and Strong initiatives, and demonstrating to the public – and our campus community –an additional element of our efforts to help create a safe environment for teaching, learning, and research.

Right next to the new vaccine question, also at the bottom of the screen, is another new yellow button we’re asking fully remote employees who have received the vaccine to please check. Again, this is a one-time request only. After you’ve confirmed that you’ve had the vaccine and that you’ve been working remotely for the past 30 days, you will not need to go back onto CampusClear until you plan to return to campus, and then according to our normal CampusClear protocols.

Why It’s Important:

This will help us differentiate between individuals who are regularly on campus and received the vaccine, and those who are consistently remote who have received it.

No More Travel Button

The final change you’ll notice – which requires no action on your part – is that we have removed the travel question. We did this based on recent revisions in NYS’s travel and quarantine guidelines that relaxed travel-related restrictions and protocols.

Thank You!

Thanks, in advance, for helping us continue to support the well-being of our campus community. Please visit the new CampusClear webpage on our Coming Back Safe and Strong website for more information on the CampusClear app.
