Tuesday, September 22, is the annual Car Free Day Long Island, and Stony Brook University needs your help to be re-crowned as the Colleges/Universities Champion!
Stony Brook’s Office of Sustainability is encouraging the campus community to take a train, bus, bicycle, carpool or walk for the day on September 22. Last year, Stony Brook won the highest pledge count, with 1,159 community members pledging to participate in sustainable transportation. This year, the goal is to have more than 3,000 pledges.
Every pledge will automatically be entered into a drawing for prizes, including a Giant Escape Disc 4 Hybrid bike, a Liv Alight 4 Disc Step Thru Hybrid bike, a Lululemon bundle, and an All-Access Long Island Pass from the LIRR.
Submit your pledge and be entered into the drawing.
Help recognize the positive impact alternative forms of transportation can have on the environment, and bring Stony Brook University to the top of the pledge chart in this year’s competition!
