Four Days of Events to Celebrate Homecoming 2022

Stony Brook University Homecoming will feature four days full of events, highlighted by the football game between the Seawolves and the University of Maine at 3:30 pm on Saturday, October 22.

Alumni, students, faculty, staff and everyone in the Stony Brook University community are invited to take part in this annual celebration of all things Seawolves.

Wednesday, October 19

Homecoming Harvest
12-2:30 pm, SAC Academic Mall
Join the Faculty Student Association and Campus Dining at this Homecoming kickoff event featuring the Apple Market. Enjoy hot and cold apple cider, pies, apples, pumpkins and other great foods that celebrate autumn.

Walter J. Hawrys Recreation Center 10th Anniversary
1-9 pm
The rec center celebrates 10 years with a day-long slate of events.

Unity Kickback
6-10 pm, Bauman Center
The Undergraduate Student Government, co-sponsored with the African Student Union, Black Womyn’s Association, Black Student Union, Caribbean Student Organization, Haitian Student Organization, Black World and NAACP, hosts this event featuring free food and music.

Thursday, October 20

Creative Explosion Show
7:30 pm, SAC – Sidney Gelber Auditorium
Come see and support your 2022 Homecoming Court as they take their Stony Brook spirit to the stage. Be there to cast your vote!

Friday, October 21

Class of 2012 10-Year Reunion
6 pm, Hilton Garden Inn
Reconnect and reminisce with your fellow classmates from Stony Brook’s Class of 2012 at the reunion social. Festivities will continue Saturday before the Homecoming game. Learn more.

Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2022 Induction Ceremony
7 pm, Island Federal Arena Atrium
The Stony Brook University Athletics Hall of Fame will open its doors to eight new members: the 2012 Stony Brook Baseball team, Allison Brewster (Cukrov) ’15 (Softball), Darcy Heuser-Ryan ’12 (Women’s Swimming and Diving), Kenneth P. LaValle, Claire Cannetti (Petersen) ’13 (Women’s Lacrosse), Tyler Santucci ’10 (Football), Dale Summerville ’05, ’08 (Men’s Cross Country/Track & Field) and Jameel Warney ’16 (Men’s Basketball). Seawolves Showcase
7:30-11 pm
The 12th annual Seawolves Showcase features the Marching Band, cheerleaders, dance team, football team and handpicked performance groups performing on the outdoor stage.

Saturday, October 22

Student Tailgate
11:30 am-3 pm, Gymnasium Road parking lot
No reservations needed, first-come, first-served. A valid SBU student ID is required for access. Learn more.

Homecoming BBQ
12:30-3:30 pm, LaValle Stadium parking lot
Festivities for all ages! Admission is free for everyone for the rides and games. Admission to the BBQ only is $25 for adults, $20 for students and recent grads, $10 for children. Register here.

Athletics Alumni Tailgate
2-6:30 pm, Downey Family Football Tent, Gate 6, LaValle Stadium
The tent opens 90 minutes prior to kick-off. Guests can stay in the tent throughout the game and enjoy food, beer, wine and soft drinks. Register here.

Homecoming Football Game
3:30 pm, LaValle Stadium
Watch the Seawolves take on the Maine Black Bears. Get tickets.

Comedy Show with Jacob Williams
8-9:30 pm, SAC Auditorium
Jacob Williams’ comedy follows his misadventures through the worlds of dating, day jobs and dining alone; he tours comedy clubs, colleges and corporate events across America. Get an event pass to scan in the CORQ app; sign-in to CORQ using your Stony Brook NetID.
