Move-in Day 2018

Experience Stony Brook

At Experience Stony Brook new students will attend a series of programs and activities designed to acclimate them to Stony Brook and introduce them to faculty, staff and fellow students. They will receive important information about rights and responsibilities as a Stony Brook student, including policy information on issues such as drugs and alcohol, sexual assault, hazing and the University code of conduct. Students will also receive ID cards and have the opportunity to visit an information fair featuring various University departments.

Experience Stony Brook is required for all new students. Residential students are required to attend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will receive agendas for the weekend at residence hall move in on Friday and at Experience Stony Brook check-in on Saturday. Commuter students are required to attend Saturday and Sunday and will receive an agenda at check-in on Saturday.

For questions about orientation please contact the Office of Student Orientation and Family Programs at (631) 632-6710.

The fun doesn’t stop when the weekend is over. Many events are planned throughout the month of September, so cheer on the Seawolves football team or join an intramural sport, attend an outdoor movie or an orchestra concert, go to a paint night or an internship fair, and don’t miss Family Weekend on September 20-22.
