Eight SBU Students Earn Prestigious Fulbright Scholarships

Hometown: Watertown, New York

Degree: 2021 BA+BS in Biochemistry and Philosophy, with a minor in Chemistry

Departmental advisors/research mentors: David Maynard and Jeremy Marchese

Ferraro received a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Award to Taiwan. In addition to teaching English in Taiwan, Ferraro will be learning Mandarin and using his background in drumming to engage with the local community. He said he hopes to both share American drumming traditions and learn more about those of his host country.
