The Stony Brook Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching will host its annual symposium April 11, offering all faculty, staff and students a chance to learn about and discuss teaching pedagogy.
This is the third year CELT has hosted the symposium out of the Office of the Provost. The symposium aims to highlight different teaching methodologies and support interested faculty in exploring and potentially integrating new techniques into their classrooms.
“Across the university, our faculty and instructors care deeply about the quality of their instruction and their students’ classroom experiences,” said Rose Tirotta-Esposito, CELT director. “Yet we know that it can be challenging for our faculty to find the time to go to conferences off-campus about teaching and learning. With this symposium, CELT is able to bring those kinds of conversations and experts to campus, give our campus experts an opportunity to share, and give our community a chance to explore different methodologies and engage with each other.”
The event is free, but registration is recommended. The event will be in the Student Activities Center, Ballroom A.
