Beyond the expected icon sb podcastWhile other schools have had to close their doors to in-person learning, Stony Brook University continues to offer both onsite and remote educational experiences. Student participation in safety protocols is a big reason why. Our next Beyond the Expected Podcast will celebrate student and university successes to date, and look to our future plans for fall, winter and beyond.

As we approach the mid-semester mark, this episode looks at the keys to our success to date, including the role students have played to keep our campus safe and maintain our carefully designed hybrid learning model. We’ll explore plans we have for winter and spring, COVID testing for students, as well as preparations we’ve made to continue to ‘come back safe and strong’ and protect all members of our campus community.

Host Lawrence Zacarese, Interim Chief of Police and Assistant Vice President for Campus Safety, is joined by three campus experts:

  • Marisa Bisiani, Assistant Vice President, Student Health, Wellness and Prevention Services, Division of Student Affairs

  • Rick Gatteau, PhD, Vice President for Student Affairs & Dean of Students, Division of Student Affairs

  • Shelley Germana, PhD, Associate Provost for Academic Success, Division of Undergraduate Education

This episode originally aired on Facebook Live on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.
