As a visionary leader, I am certain that Dr. Lee will play an integral role in continuing to elevate the performance and reputation of SUNY Korea. As the president of SUNY Korea, he will be responsible for overseeing the academic and administrative operations of the university and providing leadership for stakeholders in the U.S. and Korea.”

SUNY Korea was established in 2012 to serve the transnational needs for quality and global education by offering SUNY institutions’ prestigious programs in Korea. With approximately 1,000 students from 40 countries currently enrolled, SUNY Korea offers seven undergraduate and eight graduate degree programs. It started with the graduate programs of Stony Brook University’s Department of Technology & Society and Department of Computer Science. Since then, SUNY Korea has opened three additional departments including Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics & Statistics, and Business Management. In fall 2017, SUNY Korea launched two departments of the Fashion Institute of Technology: Fashion Design and Fashion Business Management.

Students enrolled at Stony Brook University are eligible for Study Abroad at SUNY Korea, and undergraduate students at SUNY Korea are required to spend one year on the Stony Brook University campus in New York State.

Lee received his BS degree in Computer Science from the University of Utah, his MS in Computer Science from Stanford University, and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Utah. Lee has served as the provost and interim president of SUNY Korea.
