Mike E. Winfield will bring a bit of history with him when he appears on the Staller Center Recital Hall stage on March 30, after becoming only the second comic on America’s Got Talent in 17 seasons to receive a Golden Buzzer and advance to the finals.
Winfield is one of the rare comedians to make the finals on the popular NBC television show and was the first comedian to ever earn a Golden Buzzer from judge Simon Cowell.
In an interview with People magazine after guaranteeing his place in the AGT finals, Winfield said, “I’m not taking my foot off the gas pedal. In between sets, I’m just literally staying on stage and performing. I need to do what I did to get there, but I feel like [fans] know me now. Now, I can bring the world more into my world, and I think I have the ability, and I know how to do that.”
Winfield made his debut on The Late Show with David Letterman, and has gone on to film two separate one-hour standup comedy specials, one on Amazon Prime and another on YouTube.
