The SUNY Student Assembly held its annual spring conference at the Gideon Putnam Resort in Saratoga Springs from April 16 through April 18. The main goals of this conference were to elect the executive board for the upcoming year, discuss relevant higher education issues, offer leadership development workshops, and provide opportunities for students from various campuses to get acquainted with their counterparts.

This year, SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher spoke at the conference. She also judged the “School Spirit Contest,” which Stony Brook University won.  Stony Brook also won the RecycleMania contest among all the SUNY campuses.

Stony Brook was represented by various members of the 2009-2010 Undergraduate Student Government (USG) Executive Council: Jennifer Chan, junior class representative; Moiz Khan, treasurer; David Mazza, vice president of communications and public relations; Ashley S. Reji, vice president of clubs and organizations; Keith M. Tilley, vice president of student life, programming, and activities; Jasper S. Wilson, president; and Catherine A. Young, freshman class representative. President-elect Matthew H. Graham also attended the conference.
