USG President Anna Lubitz will help lead a dial-in discussion on women’s political leadership on Monday, October 15, at 2 pm. The interactive event is hosted by Elect Her – Campus Women Win, a national program that encourages and trains women to run for office in student government and beyond. Also joining the call will be Jacque Robinson, a council member in Pasadena, California, and Kate C. Farrar, Director of Leadership Programs for The American Association of University Women (AAUW).
The call will launch the 40 Elect Her–Campus Women Win training sites for 2013 and provide an update on the status of women in political leadership from college to Congress. Stony Brook is one 40 campuses chosen this year to join in the initiative, which is sponsored AAUW in collaboration with Running Start.
Stony Brook women and others interested are invited to attend by phone. For more information and to RSVP, visit electhercall.eventbrite.com.
