The semi-annual cleanup of Rt. 25A near the Stony Brook Long Island Rail Road station took place on Saturday, October 11, despite a driving rain and cooler temperatures. More than 30 Stony Brook students volunteered from 8 am to 11 am to rake leaves, plant flowers and trim bushes. The students were coordinated through the Office of Commuter Student Services and Off-Campus Living and worked side by side with the Greening of 25A Committee and County Legislator Kara Hahn, as well as members of the Civic Association of Stony Brook and the Setaukets and the Three Village Chamber of Commerce.
