NASA has selected biomechanical engineer major Connor Beierle, a member of the Seawolves Rugby Team, for an internship this fall. Beierle has been invited to participate in the Fall 2012 Rotocraft Aeromechanics XVIII Internship at Ames Research Center in California. He will be working with outstanding NASA mentors in a challenging environment during a 15-week period.

With a large applicant pool that ranged nationwide, Beierle was selected for one of the few open positions. Working for NASA has been one of his goals and to one day go into space has been a life-long dream. He is now one step closer.

“I am truly proud of Connor,” said Rugby Coach Daniel Yarusso. “It just speaks volumes of his work ethic and determination.”

Beierle is headed into his junior year and was primed to be a star player for Seawolves Rugby this fall. In addition, he was on the short list for captain to replace recent graduate Pete Molloy. Beierle will be back with the team in Spring 2013.
