Stony Brook University’s Gina M. Vanacore Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) has won the Outstanding Chapter of the Year award at the North East Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (NEACURH) 2013 Mini No Frills Regional Conference, which was held this year at Northeastern University. This is the highest award that an NRHH chapter can win.
“I am so proud of our hardworking executive board and general body members who have worked tirelessly to make this year such a special one,” said NRHH President Samuel Rosner.
Stony Brook’s Residence Hall Association (RHA) Advisor Kathleen Hart and RHA President Peter Sheh also won awards for Advisor of the Year and President of the Year, respectively.
“It’s not every year that a university gets distinguished with such high honors,” added Rosner. “This is a true testament to the incredible impact that our residential and student life departments have had on our region this past year.”
Stony Brook’s NRHH is now in the running for National Chapter of the Year, which will be announced at this year’s NACURH National Conference during the first week of June at the University of Pittsburgh.
