This spring 10 Stony Brook University students from the Catholic Campus Ministry volunteered their time at Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York in Wading River, marking the second time this semester the group has visited the facility. The volunteers spent time with the children doing fun activities, such as arts and crafts, and organizing kickball and soccer. Campus Ministry Director Joanne Buonocore, who organized and managed the event, said, “Many of these volunteers build relationships with these children, who often remember them on return visits. It becomes a real joy for both the volunteers and the children themselves.”

Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York’s mission is to deliver services, programs and direction to improve the lives of children in crisis, families and the developmentally disabled.
