This past spring, 21 individuals and 12 groups were honored with the 2021 Undergraduate Recognition Awards. The theme for the awards was “Honoring Leadership and Service through a Global Pandemic.”
Nominated by Stony Brook faculty and staff, these students and student groups proved to have made an impact throughout the past year. Despite the adversities that came with the pandemic, these hard-working students and student groups did not let the pandemic stop their passion and drive to help the community.
From making masks to give to the local community to planning engagement activities for fellow Seawolves, all of the individuals and groups have been selfless in their efforts to make the community brighter in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Even when classes and club organizations turned to online modules and virtually everything had gone remote, that did not stop the recipients from going out of their way to help those around them.
These individuals and groups have not only made an impact on their organizations and classes but have become leaders impacting the social, racial and economic aspects around them. To see all of the individual and group recipients of the excellence award, click here.
