How does it feel to earn an NSF GRF?
Incredible! It is an honor to have been awarded this fellowship and it validates my hard work and commitment to science. I am proud to be in the company of such great scientists both past and present.
What will this award allow you to do that you might not have done without it?
This fellowship allows me to conduct the research I am passionate about and will open many doors for me, from collaborations to scientific outreach.
What will you research and how might it benefit the world?
My research focuses on studying the effects of cannabidiol on migroglial activation and identifying the underlying mechanism of how cannabidiol can lessen the severity of seizures in epilepsy.
What sparked your interest in your research, or science in general?
I have always had a curious mind about how things work and what happens when a system breaks down. I have to thank my previous professors and advisors for exposing me to the various aspects of science and steering me toward research.
