Stony Brook University Hospital is competing for two grants through the LIVESTRONG Community Impact Project. Both of these grants will bring needed services to support families fighting cancer in our community.
Offered through the LIVESTRONG’s Pillars4Life program, this grant will support the Social Work Department, allowing the Hospital to offer a “virtual” support and education group to reach as many cancer patients as possible.
Offered through the LIVESTRONG’s Certification for Advanced Palliative Care, this grant will support the Stony Brook Survivorship and Supportive Care Program to help patients and their families cope with the difficult symptoms and other problems related to serious life-threatening illness.
