Carol Gomes, CEO of Stony Brook University Hospital, was interviewed in a PBS NewsHour segment on hospitals’ efforts to increase capacity and supplies in order to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Interviewed remotely by William Brangham, Gomes described measures being taken by the hospital as the apex of the infection approaches.
“I can’t be more proud of our Stony Brook Medicine team,” Gomes said. “We have to prepare for this surge in every way, shape and form possible, staffing, supplies, and space. And so everyone is completely laser-focused on this task.”
