Distance Learning Option Offered for Physician Assistants

SBUMCA new distance learning option is being offered through the Post-Professional Masters Program for Physician Assistants at Stony Brook. This 30-credit program, which was launched in 2006, provides a unique focus on administration, management, teaching, and research skills. The program helps prepare graduates for career advancement opportunities in all areas of health care.

Courses are offered both online and at the Stony Brook and Manhattan campuses. Applications for the 2011 spring semester are being accepted until December 1. Following this date, application deadlines are April 1 for the summer session and September 1 for the fall session. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and PA program.

The program is partially funded through a two-year grant from the New York State Department of Health.
