Cultivating Gratitude

Cultivating gratitude feature

Cultivating gratitudeMary Jeanne Ramos and her husband, Peter Schweitzer, of West Sayville created more than 100 kitchen garden bags for frontline hospital workers across Long Island as a way of showing gratitude. Included in their donation to Stony Brook University Hospital was a note that read, “While many would be planting their gardens, you were caring for our community. So we did the work for you.”

Each 5 gallon garden bag was filled with 100 percent organic soil and featured lettuces, herbs and flowers. Mary Jeanne personally delivered the bags to Stony Brook, and they were gratefully received by employees in the Emergency Department.
