Register Now for CEWIT 2013, the Premier Forum on Emerging Technologies

Celebrating a decade of innovation and collaboration, CEWIT 2013: The 10th International Conference and Expo on Emerging Technologies for a Smarter World, will be held October 21 and October 22 at the Melville Marriott Long Island. Register before October 15 to receive a reduced rate.

CEWIT 2013 is the premier international forum on the presentations of original research results as well as exchange and dissemination of innovative applications of emerging technologies in infrastructure, healthcare and energy, which are three of the most critical components of a smarter global environment. This two-day conference will feature multiple parallel sessions on cloud computing, visual computing, mobile computing, big data and dynamic data analytics, smart infrastructure, smart medicine, smart grid and smart energy.

Renowned speakers and panelists from industry, academia and government will be presenting at this year’s conference, so take advantage of this unique opportunity to network and listen to experts in the field. This year’s keynote speakers include James A. Harding, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Henry Schein Inc.; Dr. Edward Shortliffe, Professor of Bioinformatics, Columbia University; and Paul Steinberg, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Motorola Solutions Inc. The SBU Ballroom Dance Team is one of several student groups performing at CEWIT 2013.

This year a special celebration of international culture and diversity will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the annual CEWIT Conference. On the opening evening Monday, October 21, a series of musical and dance performances by Stony Brook University student organizations and pieces by The Stony Brook Chinese Folk and Youth Dance Groups will follow the CEWIT2013 International Reception and Recognitions. The entertainment personifies the cultural uniqueness of the University and mirrors the long-standing concept of the CEWIT conference — to bring together the diversity of ideas and expression at a single forum. SBU student groups performing include Taiko Tides, the Stony Brook University Ballroom Dance Team, Stony Brook University Belly Dancers and the Greek and Cypriot Student Association of Stony Brook University.
